Add an element of healing to your teaching and practice with somatic yoga and myofascial release. This 55-hour training, for both teachers and practitioners, will give you the tools to help facilitate healing for the nervous system, musculoskeletal system, and the brain. By working on a subtle level, somatic work helps us turn our awareness inward where healing begins.

The training will cover the basics of somatic work and somatic movement patterns for hip, shoulder, neck and back pain, nervous system and vagus nerve, somatic meditation, working with fascia and myofascial release work, the lymphatic system, using somatics to prepare for asana practice and sequencing ideas, somatics breath regulation, and much more!

Students will come away with skills to help them work with their own bodies, work with private clients, as well as the basics of teaching a somatic class or incorporating somatic ideas into regular yoga classes.

Major elements of the training will be recorded, and offered through google classroom. Evening zoom sessions will be recorded as well.

Yoga Philosophy

June 6, 7, 8, July 11, 12, 13, August 1, 2, & 3

With Sheetal Contractor, E-RYT® 500, YACEP®.

Fundamentally, Yoga is a lifelong practice of self-inquiry and self-discovery leading to Self-awareness. Its roots are embedded in philosophy and spirituality and thus, what most of the world understands yoga to be is only the tip of the iceberg. This 50-hour training is perfect for…
  • yoga teachers wanting to deepen their understanding of the teachings that lie “below the water”
  • spiritual enthusiasts desiring to understand the Yogic perspective of spirituality.
The intention behind this training is to
  • relay key philosophical teachings of Yoga in a manner that is accessible and relatable while also traditionally accurate
  • provide examples and contemplative questions for Self-exploration
  • offer empowering practices to support your ongoing journey of Self-discovery.
Using modern commentaries of ancient texts such as the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and Yoga Sutras as well as the newly published Yoga and Meditation for the Spiritual Seeker: A Guide to Knowing and Loving Your Whole Authentic Self, we will explore and engage in the following questions:
  • Who am I?
  • What is spirituality?
  • What are the yogic perspectives of Source and the Self?
  • What is “spiritual anatomy”?
  • What does it mean to be in relationship with your multi-dimensional Self?
  • How does greater awareness and unconditional acceptance of the kosha human paradigm inform and support our wholeness and authentic living?
Our spiritual inquiry will take us into a deeper dive into the following Yoga principles…
  • Bhakti Yoga
  • Karma Yoga
  • Jnana Yoga
  • Raja Yoga
  • karma
  • dharma (Life purpose)
  • traya sharira (three bodies)
  • pancha kosha (five sheaths)
  • and much more!
$750 stand-alone training for Yoga Alliance-approved continuing education hours or as a module in the 300-hour Certification Program (included with the cost of the 300-hour training). You are welcome to pay in full or make 3 payments of $250 through the Soluna Solutions website.
