Introducing Kim Gomez: “In 2015, an old friend of mine convinced me to take a hot yoga class. At the time, I considered myself a pretty fit individual. I had grown up in Trinidad, running track, cheerleading in high school and college, and even picked up weight training when I moved to NYC. So I walked into my first yoga class overly confident… how hard could stretching be? Safe to say I was humbled.
Though the physicality (and heat) of that class left me a little shaken up, I couldn’t explain the hold I already knew yoga had on me. I dived in, mat first, attending Yin, Vinyasa and Ashtanga classes. Fast forward to 2017 – I was in a small yoga studio in downtown Manhattan, sitting wide-eyed and front row in a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program. I was eager to deepen my knowledge on anything I could learn about yoga. Lately, I’ve been focusing on continuing my instructor education by taking workshops, trainings, and working towards being 500-hour certified. As a new Pennsylvania resident, I intend on continuing to share my love for yoga and grow with this new community.”
